Physicochemical properties and porosity of coconut chell waste (CSW) biomass

Abstract Utilizing waste biomass as a reserve energy source can play an essential role in reducing expanding fossil fuel’s environmental impact. This paper presented analysis of physical, chemical, morphological, calorific values and porosity from coconut shell (CSW) alternative for biofuel feedstock. The physical properties CSW were dominated by volatile matter fixed carbon content 73.8 22.7 (wt.%, DB), respectively. value is 20.39 MJ/kg, giving significant effect when the burned. chemical C O 41.04 57.47 (wt.%), respectively, contributing most oxygen to thermal process. However, elements contributed formation ash combustor, including minor major (S, K, Si, Al, P, Cl, Ca, Mg, Fe). Besides, they had negative form slagging combustion residue. was 67.30 – 72.92%, which able increase size char particles during physicochemical confirmed that this material could be beneficial future.
